The members of the panel have been chosen because of their standing in the profession, their expertise and their ability to take a sensible approach in solving problems. The company, like all clinicians in practice, is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence and the maintenance of the highest professional standards. In this regard our very active loss prevention programme is aimed to reduce risk, reduce reportable incidents and reduce avoidable unsatisfactory outcomes.

Prof Paul Fagan, MBBS, FRCS, FRACS;
An otologist/skull base surgeon, Prof. Paul Fagan is Conjoint Professor of Surgery at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). He practices at St. Vincent's Hospital in Sydney where he is the immediate past Chairman of the Department of ENT/Head & Neck Surgery. Currently he is the immediate past President of the World Federation of Skull Base Surgery Societies and has multiple editorial appointments on international scientific journals. In 1996, he was appointed MD Honoris Causa UNSW.

Dr. Catherine Green, MBChB, FRANZCO, MMedSc;
Dr Catherine Green is an Ophthalmologist with a subspecialty interest in glaucoma. She is appointed to the Glaucoma Unit of the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and is in private practice in Melbourne. She is an active member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, serving on several committees including the Victorian State Branch Committee, College Council and the Board of Examiners.

Mr. Simon Banting, MBBS, FRACS;
Mr Simon Banting completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Melbourne in 19871. He was awarded the Fellowship of the RACS in 1990. This was followed by three years of post fellowship training in HPB/UGI surgery. This was initially at St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne. He was then a senior Registrar with Professor Alf Cuschieri in Dundee, followed by a years fellowship with Professor David Carter and James Garden in the HPB unit at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. He then returned from overseas in 1993, to take up public and private appointments in Melbourne. Currently he is the Director of the HPB/UGI surgical unit at St Vincents Hospital, Melbourne; a senior VMO at Box Hill Hospital; and a VMO at Peter MacCullum Cancer Centre. Since 2006, he has been a member of the General Surgical Court of Examiners for the FRACS Part II Fellowship and is a member of the Executive of the ANZHPBA.

Mr. John Buntine, MBBS, FRACS;
A plastic surgeon and hand surgeon at Box Hill Hospital, Epworth Eastern Hospital and Linley Clinic Melbourne. Mr Buntine has held and continues to hold several prominent leadership positions. In the international community Mr Buntine is an adviser to the World Health Organisation. In the local community Mr Buntine is the President of Australian Association of Surgeons. Mr Buntine is a past President of the Australian Hand Surgery Society, a past Vice-President of AMA Victoria and a past Deputy Chairman of the Victorian State Committee of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He continues to advise the Federal AMA and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Prof. William Coman , AM, MD, MB BS(UQld), FRCS(Otol.), FRACS(Otol.);
Current Professor and Chairman, Division of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, The University of Queensland, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane as well as Consultant ENT Surgeon and Director, ENT Unit, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane. He was the first Queenslander to be appointed as an examiner to the Court of Examiners of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and held this position for 10 years including the office of Chief Examiner. He has also held the position of Chairman of the Surgical Board in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery for six years where he was responsible for the establishment, maintenance and supervision of training programs in ENT Surgery in Australia and New Zealand. He was President of the ASOHNS from 1995-1997 as well as Chairman of the Program Committee (1997) for the first International Federation of Otorhinolaryngological Societies meeting held in Australia. Prof Coman is a Member or Fellow of 11 other Associations and Societies.

Mr Simon Crowley, MBBS, FRACS;
A colorectal and general surgeon based in Geelong. Mr Crowley holds VMO positions at St John of God Geelong, Geelong Private Hospital and Geelong Public Hospital. He studied medicine at Melbourne University and was a resident & surgical registrar at St Vincents Hospital Melbourne. He undertook post fellowship training at Newham General and The London in the United Kingdom. He was awarded Fellowship of The Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 1986. Mr Crowley has held many committee positions, he is past Chair of the St John of God medical staff group. Past Executive Member of Medical Appointments Committee Geelong Hospital. Past Supervisor of training Geelong Hospital. Convenor of the 2009 Victorian State Committee Royal Australian College of Surgeons meeting and current Chair of the Geelong Colorectal Multidisciplinary Committee. Mr Crowley has a particular interest in guidelines for managing colorectal cancer and hernia surgery and is actively involved in education and training. As an outside interest when Mr Crowley finds time he enjoys playing golf.

Dr. Patrick Hughes, FFARACS, FANZCA;
Dr Hughes graduated from Monash University in 1977 and commenced his anaesthetic training in the UK before completing it in Melbourne. He obtained his FFARACS in 1985 and FANZCA in 1992. He has been in private practice since 1986 and a member of the Victorian Anaesthetic Group since 1999. He works principally in the areas of maxillo-facial, ENT and plastic and reconstructive surgery with an interest in paediatric anaesthesia. He is an active participant in the ANZCA Maintenance of Professional Standards program. He has had a research interest and published multiple papers on both regional anaesthesia and post-operative analgesia and served several terms on the Victorian Consultative Council on Anaesthetic Morbid and Mortality. Away from the hospital he studies French and is a keen fly fisherman and contributor to various fly fishing magazines.

Dr Ian Incoll, MBBS, FRACS (Orth), FAOrthA;
Dr Incoll is an orthopaedic surgeon with 16 years experience in orthopaedic surgery and a subspecialty interest in hand surgery, and has VMO appointments in various NSW central coast hospitals. He has served as the orthopaedic craft group nominee and a director on AMA federal council, as well as on the National E-Health Transition Authority and Australian Council of Safety and Quality in Healthcare stakeholders' reference fora. He is a director and national honorary treasurer of the Australian Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a director and NSW nominee on the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) board, has served as NSW chairman of training and takes over as AOA National Director of Training in 2011. His main interests are his wife Jillian, children James, Eleanor and Lucinda and his surfboard.

Dr. Paul McRae, MBBS, FRCS(Eng), FRACS(Urol);
Current Chairman of the Western Australia Section of The Urological Society of Australia & New Zealand (USANZ), Dr McRae graduated from Monash University in 1976. In 1981 he received his FRCS in General Surgery and was awarded Fellowship from The Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 1986. Post Fellowship in reconstructive urology was undertaken between 1986 and 1987 in Cardiff Wales. He was appointed a consultant with the Royal Perth Hospital and Sir George Bedrook Spinal Unit where he later became Head of Department Urology. Dr McRae has a successful private practice in Perth and holds VMO positions at Mercy Hospital, St John of God Subiaco and Swan District Health Service. He is a previous member of the training and education committee and current Urological Society of Australian & New Zealand Board Member. Dr McRae has a special interest in reconstructive urology and urological oncology. He was once a keen golfer and now is an avid cyclist.

A/Prof. Owen Ung, MBBS, FRACS;,
A/Prof. Owen Ung is a breast and endocrine surgeon having had a Sydney based practice from 1995 to 2008. He headed the Breast and Endocrine surgical unit and was Director of the Department of General Surgery at Westmead Hospital. He has held appointments at three private Sydney Hospitals and at one of these chaired the Department of General Surgery. Early 2009 he returned to Queensland to head the Breast and Endocrine unit at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and joined the academic department of surgery of the University of Queensland. His private practice is now based at the Wesley and St Andrews Hospitals in Brisbane. Through the RACS, he plays an active role in surgical training, assessment and examination and has been an Executive member of the NSW State Committee. A/Prof Ung has obtained extensive administrative and management experience through his various clinical leadership roles and is active on numerous State and National Committees. Previous national representations include: board member of General Surgeons Australia (GSA), Chair of the Breast Section of RACS and Chair of the Breast Group of the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA). He is in demand for expert opinion in numerous medico legal cases for plaintiff and defendant lawyers and in 2008 joined the Invivo medical advisory panel.

Dr. Michael van der Griend, MBBS-UNSW, FRANZCOG, FRCOG;
An obstetrician and gynaecologist with a private practice at the North Shore Private Hospital in Sydney. He has 21 years experience in obstetrics and gynaecology. His particular interests lie in pregnancy management including high risk pregnancies, labour and delivery, infertility, gynaecological issues including cervical dysplasia and menopause. Dr van der Griend is an active member of the Caesarean Section Review Group at the Royal North Shore Hospital with VMO appointments at the Royal North Shore Hospital, Mater Misericordiae Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital.
